What’s new for Quarter 2?
- The TCE RIBBIT Report is emailed to each family weekly. It contains all of the important school events and information – please be sure to read each week!
- Greensboro Science Field trip is coming up! 11/16 We will be contacting parents who volunteered to chaperone with travel and group information. Only parents who have registered as a WCPSS volunteer may chaperone. We have not received all permission forms and payments – please be sure to turn those in ASAP!!
- Some students have signed up to compete in the TCE Spelling Bee. A practice word list is coming home in the Friday folder for participants. The Spelling Bee will be held on November 20th parents are invited to attend! It’s not too late to register!
- Battle of the Books participants should be reading their books! Groups have been formed and the Battle will be held on March 8th.
- Students who have been successful completing their agenda and homework consistently in the first quarter have demonstrated responsibility and independence – these students will no longer need a parent initial in their agenda each night. Notes will be attached to agendas this week.
- Please check the back of your child’s Weekly Reflection on Friday for any work not completed during the week. Students can complete and turn in work on Monday only. Students who have been absent have the same number of additional days to complete and turn in missed work.
- In Social Studies this quarter we will be participating in the Junior Achievement Program- Our Region. “JA Our Region is an interdisciplinary program that introduces fourth-grade students to entrepreneurship and upper elementary grade social studies learning objectives, including regions, resources, supply chains, and problem solving.”
- BYOD will begin Monday October 29. This is an optional program for students to bring and use their own device for classroom activities, projects and assignments. Look for the BYOD expectation/permission form in the Friday folder. Please use your judgement when deciding if your child is ready to participate. Also consider that devices with keyboards are the best option and cell phones will not support our purposes for research, word processing, and project creation.
